About The Position

Mack Concrete is seeking a Quality Field Technician to support our Ready-Mix Concrete operations in the Akron market. This role is responsible for preparing mix designs, supporting customers, documenting mix performance, and building strong relationships with contractors. The position is primarily focused on Summit County and requires both office-based work and regular in-person interaction at job sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage customer and internal requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working both in an office setting and in the field at active job sites
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and willingness to learn new business software
  • Valid clean driver’s license and ability to travel locally (company vehicle provided)
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., on occasion
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to squat, crawl and kneel to complete tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction, concrete, building materials, or inside sales preferred

Responsibilities

  • Tracking mix performance and inputting data into the quality software
  • Testing concrete to maintain designed specifications
  • Working with the sales team on selecting mixes for projects
  • Prepare and send submittals for commercial and heavy highway projects
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing timely and accurate information on pricing, availability, and mix specifications
  • Build relationships with new customers while maintaining and supporting existing accounts
  • Conduct in-person customer and job site visits throughout Summit County
  • Maintain accurate quote logs, sales tracking, and reporting specific to the Akron operation
  • Coordinate with dispatch, production, and operations teams to support customer needs
  • Visit job sites as needed, including occasional early morning, evening, or night pours
  • Learn and utilize company business software and internal systems
  • Support additional operational or administrative tasks as needed to assist the overall Ready-Mix team
