About The Position

The Quality Engineering Technician bridges floor-level quality execution with engineering-level responsibilities. The Quality Engineering Technician ensures process integrity by providing immediate feedback on nonconformances, while also taking ownership of MRB defect planning, documentation, and structured RCCA investigations. The role is central to driving continuous improvement, supporting compliance, and strengthening collaboration between production and engineering teams. This position will be assigned to our 2nd shift but expected to work all shifts for the first 90 days.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred, equivalent technical or military experience will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or engineering support.
  • Ability to work second shift and be available to work other shifts as required. This position will be assigned to our 2nd shift but expected to work all shifts for the first 90 days.
  • Basic understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be prepared to complete Daher SeeD Training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-the-floor investigations of nonconforming parts and processes to support production and engineering.
  • Create and document dispositions for nonconforming tags (WTs) under engineer guidance.
  • Support MRB defect planning by: o Writing clear, structured defect documentation for MRB review. o Coordinating with engineering and operations to ensure timely disposition of defects. o Tracking MRB actions in SAP/MES and ensuring closure of defect records. o Preparing defect summaries and trend reports to support CAB and MRB meetings.
  • Collect and document objective evidence for root-cause and corrective-action investigations (RCCA).
  • Provide real-time feedback to production teams regarding quality issues, containment actions, and verification of rework.
  • Use SAP/MES systems to track work order status, update documentation, and tag nonconformances.
  • Support daily ZROUTSTAT reviews to validate work order status.
  • Review and contribute to work instructions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Assist with preparation and organization of internal audit materials and provide records as needed.
  • Participate in internal audits, FAA compliance reviews, and customer process assessments.
  • Support FAA and customer audit preparation activities.
  • Attend internal, FAA, and customer-facing meetings as a team representative or recorder.
  • Perform daily walk-downs with operations and inspection personnel to verify process adherence and documentation accuracy.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) data collection and verification activities.
  • Partner with Quality Engineers and Inspectors to resolve day-to-day quality concerns.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on defect reduction and process control.
  • Participate actively in Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings as a key contributor for floor-level investigations, containment verification, and action items.
