About The Position

Join our dynamic team at Regal Rexnord, a leading aerospace manufacturing company committed to innovation, quality, and safety. We specialize in the design and production of high-performance bearings and mechanical seals for the commercial air transport markets. Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tier suppliers and aircraft operators. We are seeking a motivated Quality Engineering Intern to support our quality assurance team in maintaining and enhancing our rigorous standards for aerospace manufacturing. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment while contributing to the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. In this position, you can make immediate contributions in enhancing the current quality program by providing daily support in Quality related issues. This internship position is full-time and based at our Downers Grove Aerospace Facility and is walking distance to the Metra Train Station.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a degree program in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.)
• Previous internships or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations.
• Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career with Regal Rexnord.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real world quality related problems.
• Assist and learn about conducting inspections and product audits of aerospace components and processes to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other regulatory requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing both corrective and preventive actions.
• Interact directly with company leaders to discuss strategy and the future business of Regal Rexnord.
• Conduct a continuous improvement (Kaizen) event by participating in a quality improvement project, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, customer service, and supply chain, to support quality-related activities and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
• Take advantage of training opportunities to expand knowledge of aerospace quality principles, tools, and methodologies, and apply learnings to enhance future job performance and professional growth.
