The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers sub-assembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly. The Quality Engineering Intern will be assisting in the daily overview of production and new product introduction activities. The Intern will be mentored by a Quality Engineer on understanding and resolving manufacturing quality issues.

Requirements

  • Working towards a four year degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Some college coursework completed.
  • Ability to work under deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with Microsoft office.
  • Expertise in MS Excel or Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize quality tools and disciplines in response to customer quality concerns and internal quality improvement plans.
  • Develop work instructions for inspection/testing for QC personnel.
  • Design and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy.
  • Perform RCCA and CLCA and recommend corrective action for customer quality concerns and complaints.
  • Support RMA/MRB material disposition.
  • Develop inspection check fixtures.
  • Report on particle count for clean room.
  • Help in addressing Supplier Quality issues.
