About The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic Quality Engineering Intern to join our PHINIA Quality Team in Troy, Michigan. The intern will support the development and implementation of Work Instructions, Quality Standards, General Arrangements, and other process-related documents. Responsibilities include supporting structured problem-solving efforts, following up on corrective and preventive actions, and assisting with warranty analysis and supplier interactions. The role also involves supporting Quality Technician activities and participating in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing BS/MS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiar with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Minitab.
• Familiar with Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI.
• Strong computer skills; MS Office.
• Able to read Product Drawings.
• Eager and willing to learn and ability to adapt to new challenges.
• Effective problem-solving ability and hands on.
• Strong analytical thinker.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of Work Instructions (JES), Quality Standards, General Arrangements, and other process related documents.
• Support auditing, development, improvement, and management.
• Support structured problem-solving efforts, as required.
• Follow up on corrective, preventive and improvement actions, as required.
• Support activities with suppliers, run samples.
• Support return of suspect/defective material to suppliers.
• Warranty analysis: log in/manage returns, run tests, log results, and coordinate warranty for product produced by third party processors.
• Support 5S in Quality Department areas, and other areas, as required.
• Support Quality Technician activities, as required.
• Special projects/tasks, as assigned.
