About The Position

Minster is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team, with an immediate opening for an individual focused on continuous improvement and process optimization. This role involves identifying opportunities for enhancing quality, formulating corrective and preventive actions, and working to implement those actions to boost quality levels and process compliance. The Quality Engineer will review machining and assembly processes, ensuring consistency and recommending modifications based on controlled experiments. Additionally, this position will support the execution of tactical quality objectives, aligning with customer and global requirements while promoting best practices in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment. A strong background in quality sciences or a technical degree in manufacturing or engineering technology is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an applied science or engineering field, or the equivalent of work experience in a similar environment required (10+ years quality experience and AQS certification as a Quality Engineer required in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years prior experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment. Strongly prefer 10+ years of Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Supplier Quality
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering core tools and manufacturing processes including APQP, PFMEA, FMEA, 8-D, Six Sigma & manufacturing specifications
  • Must be able to apply root-cause problem-solving techniques
  • Must understand the art of handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and tactful manner
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • 1 to 2 years of experience using ERP systems (experience in SAP preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Capable of managing multiple assignments
  • Experience in a key quality role
  • Passion for leading change through continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Promote quality performance throughout the area operation through process compliance and continuous improvement efforts
  • Bring together staff of different disciplines and lead the group to create and implement comprehensive quality processes, procedures, and corrective actions
  • Manage and maintain the area's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials, components, and finished goods
  • Drive the ISO9001 Quality Manual processes and lead the activities to obtain certification
  • Effectively interact with sales, operations, and technical teams to maintain efficient production and help introduce new products
  • Work with Supplier Quality to establish quality requirements and record keeping for external suppliers
  • Ensure production personnel are properly trained in inspection procedures and that these procedures are fully understood, carried out, and embraced
  • Analyze quality data to feed process and part design improvements
  • Formulate, manage, and report on the quality related goals and objectives for the area
  • Maintain awareness of and contribute to the business objectives and company profitability targets
  • Communicate with customers regarding the development of quality processes, execution of corrective action, and compliance with customers specifications
  • Support and participate in the Continuous Improvement program
  • Willingness to travel nationally or internationally as required.
