About The Position

The role involves supporting engineering in the implementation of quality requirements at GM, specifically at the DMAX Brookville, Ohio facility. The successful candidate will monitor consistency with global metric definitions, maintain documentation for quality readiness reviews, and actively participate in quality management meetings. The position requires proficiency in GM's quality systems and the ability to manage projects related to quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of quality or engineering experience, or strong multifunctional manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with blueprints, GD&T, and CMM reports.
  • Basic machining concepts and principles knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SPC strategies and data analysis.

  • Thorough understanding of the plant production process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering.
  • Proficient use of GSIP, ECM, Excel, PRTS, SPPS, GQTS, Teamcenter, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with Q-Das/Minitab.
  • Understanding of measurement and gaging techniques as well as GM Measurement Standards.
  • Experience with Red X technical problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering in the implementation of quality requirements.
  • Monitor consistency to global metric definitions and performance.
  • Maintain documentation of launch manufacturing quality readiness reviews.
  • Participate in plant quality manager meetings and launch quality manager meetings.
  • Manage projects as requested from the Quality Shop Director.
  • Coach, teach, and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ principles.
  • Provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to plant staff and executive leadership.
  • Present clear problem definitions and technical mentorship on complex problems to assembly plant and engineering staff.
  • Support the launch of new products and maintain updates to quality requirements.
  • Maintain quality requirement deviations from plants and cost of quality reports by plant.
