About The Position

The Quality Engineer position at Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) involves planning and conducting activities to improve and ensure the conformance of CVG processes and products to internal and external requirements. The role emphasizes adherence to safety policies, continuous improvement, teamwork, and customer service. The Quality Engineer will assist in all phases of product realization, create and revise documentation, manage audits, develop problem-solving approaches, and facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Additionally, the engineer will lead root cause analysis meetings and serve as the primary contact between CVG and customers regarding quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree with manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Develop alternative solutions and keep emotions under control in stressful situations.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively in various situations.
  • Present numerical data effectively and accurately.
  • Show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences and promote an inclusive environment.
  • Work with integrity and ethically, following company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year or bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in Engineering/Engineering Technology or a similar field.
  • At least three (3) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project management and customer interaction experience.
  • Quality auditing, engineering, and/or management certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Support the organization's efforts toward continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service.
  • Provide good customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Assist in all phases of product realization including product and process development.
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team activities.
  • Create and revise documentation and graphics defining manufacturing specifications, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Document data obtained during quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee internal and external product and process audits.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
  • Facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including creating and maintaining records and submitting PPAP packages to customers.
  • Lead root cause analysis meetings with multidisciplinary teams utilizing root cause analysis tools.
