The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for this position will coordinate quality assessments and improvement initiatives that are required to meet the expectations of the Electric and Automotive Industries As a(n) Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Ensuring incoming raw materials from internal and external suppliers meet agreed upon specifications. Troubleshooting quality issues, modifying/developing test procedures, and driving corrective actions. Reviewing and updating product specifications based on customer needs and process capability. Developing/Reviewing Quality Assurance certifications. Ensuring the successful deployment of products into the market via the NPI process. Responding to requests from the design and sales team, tech service and management. Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards. Driving significant cost, quality, and process improvements using Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing methodologies, and statistical methods. Leading ISO 9001:2015 efforts and ensure conformance to this standard, including representing the plant during 3rd party audits. Generating control plans to ensure compliance to customer product specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Two (2) year(s) of Quality Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Core Tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Experience with IATF 16949
  • Experience as a quality management system auditor
  • Certifications in quality engineering, quality auditing or quality management e.g., American Society for Quality-ASQ certification(s): Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)
  • Microsoft Office proficient, Minitab or another statistical tools a plus
  • Knowledge of web handling, laminating, and paper manufacturing
