About The Position

About the team:ZF-Fenton Quality department is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the quality controls for the Fenton Braking Plant, which has a machining department, high speed assembly department, and final assembly and testing department where Slip Control Braking units are assembled.  The quality team manages incoming supplier component quality, the Fenton plant process quality and responds to any customer quality concerns.   What you can look forward to as a Quality Engineer: You will work in a highly technical manufacturing environment with diverse automated assembly and machining processes. Support and complies with established Company’s Corporate Principles and goals Understand and comply with quality requirements such as IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence. Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process. Perform activities in coordination with other departments, effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner. Developing and maintaining productive working relationships. Support in cross-functional working groups and assist the conclusion of activities. Initiate, complete, and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience (internship/co-op included) in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures.
  • Proficient with Minitab and Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Proven creativity and analytical methods with a high-level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 8D, 3X5 WHY, Fishbone and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).
