About The Position

The Quality Engineer (QE) develops and implements quality standards, systems, and procedures to ensure that products meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements, ultimately improving product quality and production efficiency. Key responsibilities include conducting audits, performing root cause analysis for defects, analyzing quality data, liaising with suppliers, developing corrective actions, and training teams to maintain high quality throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; pivot tables, statistical trending, data analysis etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • BS in Engineering (electrical/electronic preferred) with 2 years of experience in quality-related operations OR 5 years of quality-related experience
  • Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and follow directions.
  • Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and or stand for extended time periods.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder while working.
  • Must have good vision to inspect parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Quality Standards: Create quality standards, guidelines, and acceptable limits for manufactured products and processes.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor the entire production cycle to identify potential malfunctions and implement preventative measures early.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product and manufacturing failures to determine their underlying causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Testing & Inspection: Oversee product testing and inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Supplier Quality: Assess and evaluate incoming parts and materials from vendors, ensuring they meet established quality criteria.
  • Quality Systems: Develop, implement, and update the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Standard.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on malfunctions, corrective actions, and quality metrics, and create necessary quality documentation and SOPs.
  • Training: Train production and quality control teams on quality assurance procedures and protocols.
  • Customer Support: Analyze warranty returns and customer feedback to identify and address product quality issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with design, production, and supplier teams to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality and efficiency.
  • Audits: Perform audits, internal and at the supplier level, as required.
  • Assist: Assist in identifying & driving continuous improvement opportunities.
