POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in the planning and verification of new and existing products through detailed analysis and evaluation of contracts, customer requirements, specifications, and OSI Arlington processes. Also support, help maintain and continuously improve OSI Arlington’s Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001 requirements.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related education with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing. 6 years’ experience in Quality as in a technical role can be substituted for education.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in ISO/API QMS.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged sitting. Some moderate lifting – min. 20lbs. Walking, standing, reaching and bending may be required. Eye exam to prove near vision acuity on Jaegers J2 letters 12 to 17 inches, or equivalent.
  • CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS – By contractual requirements, the project and job location for this position requires that all persons establish proof of US Citizenship. Dual Citizenship (US citizenship and citizenship of some other country) cannot be accepted. You will be required to provide original or certified copies of documents establishing your citizenship prior to consideration for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer a plus.
  • Certification as an auditor is beneficial.
  • Experience in Process Engineering of Elastomer materials, Molded Products, Welding, NDE, Machining/Dimensional Tolerancing is a plus.
  • Experience in high volume production and assembly a plus.
  • Solid understanding of design principles in a manufacturing environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requirements/contract review and develop Quality Plans/Test and Inspection Plans.
  • Review purchase requisitions to assure Quality requirements are specified in accordance with contract specifications and Quality Plan requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and directions to suppliers on issues related to product quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction for Document Control function.
  • Review product designs, specifications, and tests plans to assure that contractual design requirements are met.
  • Prepare customer required documentation, including Quality required data packages.
  • Write reports providing documentation to customers or other verification authorities that our products meet contract / design requirements. Ex. COC’s
  • Conduct root cause analysis for investigating internal and external quality issues.
  • Assist with Risk Management, Assessing Risk, Risk Mitigation and Contingency Planning.
  • Interpret industry codes and standards relate to product design and meeting customer requirements.
  • Implement customer requirements through training and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain facility specific Quality Procedures and Specifications.
  • Assist Quality Manager with implementing CAR / PAR requests internally and externally.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the NCP Web system.
  • Conduct internal audits of OSI Arlington QMS/Processes and Supplier audits.
  • Monitors and analyzes data collected from team-members & departments and presents metrics to OSI Management and Customers. (Includes Trending Data)
  • Guide and mentor inspectors when necessary; troubleshoot, analyze, and recommend solutions for product quality problems; train inspectors and other personnel in inspection techniques and methods used to verify products.
