Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day quality improvements initiatives as well as the planning, coordination, and implementation of specific quality improvement projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of inspection methods, techniques, and equipment.
  • Experience in Aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of 6S.
  • Time-management and Organization skills
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with CMM and CAD based computer programs.
  • Experience with ISO-9001, TS-16949 or AS-9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with common machine shop gaging and techniques.
  • Familiar with CMM machines and the associated coordinate measuring system.
  • Ability to manage projects and get them done in a timely manner.
  • Ability to Identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to identify root cause and solve problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Proficient Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Required to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Serves as ‘Voice of the Customer’ reviewing concerns, questions and non-conforming material. Analyze failures; perform root cause analysis and corrective action for process related concerns and/ or customer complaints.
  • Review, analyze, and determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions for internal Non-Conforming Material. Posts Key Business Indicators in support of company and corporate goals.
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and tools as well as work with manufacturing and engineering personnel in support of the quality function.
  • Interfaces with engineering and operations to ensure successful new product launches.
  • Supports the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.
  • Continuously improve Quality first piece, in-process, and final inspection processes and procedures.
  • Assists in developing personnel to improve skills required to reduce final inspection turn-backs.
  • Installs statistical sampling and monitoring of processes as required, reports on trends.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System.
  • Follow 6S procedures and maintain a clean organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
