About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3–4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry. Specific education and training in Quality disciplines, including at minimum ISO/TS 16949 or QS9000, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management (TQM), PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC. Six Sigma certification strongly preferred. Deep understanding of problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Kepner-Tregoe (KT), and A3. Experience with data analysis using Excel, Minitab, and Power BI. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all BOS, ISO/TS 16949, and customer-specific requirements. Understand plant and customer KPIs and work with the team to meet or exceed performance targets. Participate as a Layered Process Auditor as instructed by the Manager. Drive continuous improvement across all production quality deliverables. Support PPAP package preparation for product submissions, obtaining approval from the Product Service Manager or Quality Manager prior to submission to the customer. Develop and update Control Plans and support the Manufacturing Engineer in updating PFMEAs as required. Create appropriate inspection and containment plans. Utilize all customer-specific systems effectively. Conduct capability studies for special characteristics, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with customer and internal requirements, or obtaining written customer deviations when necessary. Support continuous improvement of Operation Description Sheets (ODS). Identify and apply appropriate statistical tools, mentoring team members on proper application and techniques. Serve as the primary interface with assigned external customers for issue resolution. Ensure completion of all customer-specific advanced quality planning requirements. Prepare and submit 8-D reports to customers in a timely manner. Visit customers as needed and facilitate communication between the customer and the plant. Initiate Quality Alerts when concerns arise and follow through until resolution. Verify all customer return material analyses, including root cause identification and corrective actions.
