Job Responsibilities: Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure proper quality of product by knowing customer specific requirements and implement quality improvements as identified.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to do trigonometric functions, geometry, and basic math
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred or One to three years’ experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Responsibilities

  • Develop/approve gauging for new programs or gage revisions to existing programs.
  • Performs audits as required.
  • Responsible for preparation of Control Plans, and inspection instructions/check sheet as required.
  • Provide assistance and support as a member of the APQP team of Magna Body & Chassis Iowa.
  • Responsible for PPAP sample submissions.
  • Schedule CMM and coordinate gage calibration system.
  • Promote and practice our “safety first” policy by addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe situations immediately.
  • Keep the department leader advised of conditions within the work area.
  • Report gage, tool or other equipment problems to the department leader.
  • Notify the department leader whenever tasks or scheduled work cannot be completed as planned.
  • Recommend and encourage others to recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment (Continual Improvement Process).
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and help develop this attitude throughout the company.
  • Treat all associates with dignity and respect.
  • Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles
  • Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey
