About The Position

Use knowledge of and experience with quality systems and tools (like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings with GD&T, measuring equipment and product inspection techniques, problem-solving and analysis, quality software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, effective communication and teamwork, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, safety practices and regulatory compliance in manufacturing settings, and project management and documentation control, to support quality systems and processes across casting, forging, finishing, and machining operations. Provides hands-on, direct involvement in product inspections, metallurgical testing, and dimensional validation to ensure compliance with customer and internal quality standards. Supports quality assurance efforts throughout the casting, forging, finishing, and machining production processes. Develops and maintains inspection plans, control plans, and PFMEAs. Conducts hands-on product inspections and metallurgical tests, including hardness, ultrasonic, dimensional, and surface finish testing. Operates and interprets results from quality tools and equipment such as CMMs, micrometers, roughness testers, and hardness testers. Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone techniques. Supports incoming, in-process, and final inspections for conformance to engineering specifications and customer requirements. Ensures compliance with applicable standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer specific requirements. Maintains accurate records of quality data, test results, and nonconformance reports. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and resolve quality issues. Participates in internal, customer, and third-party audits. Trains production and maintenance personnel in quality requirements and procedures. May perform other responsibilities and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, Technology or related technical field (U.S. equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties.
