Our Quality Enginee r will lead the charge in shaping and elevating Superior Completions’ Quality Management System by transforming policies, procedures, manuals, and work instructions into a cohesive, high‑performing framework that drives operational excellence. This role also champions the creation of meaningful quality metrics that fuel continuous improvement across the organization. This role partners closely with supervisors and managers to ensure quality standards are fully understood, consistently applied, and continuously optimized. Serves as a strategic guide, identifying gaps, coaching leaders, and empowering teams to deliver safer, smarter, and more efficient performance every day.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • If degreed, we prefer Quality Engineering, Quality and Statistical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with Quality certification
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering or at least five years’ related quality or industry experience, as well as training with a Certified Quality Engineering Certificate or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current practices, equipment, materials, supplies, and technology used in the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge, competency, and experience in Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge relating to completion services procedures and processes
  • Proficiency with personal computers and software, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ethical business practices
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, legal documents, customer specifications, and industrial standards
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from management, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
  • Ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop recommendations from the data collected.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, follow-up, and implement corrective actions after completion of Root Cause Analysis (RCA); provide guidance to supervisors and managers on ways to address the issues.
  • Makes a determination on whether proposed corrective actions meet the need as stated in the Corrective Action.
  • Write, develop, initiate, and maintain standards and procedures for the performance of Quality Assurance, Inspection, and Test functions
  • Establish controls and inspection points to facilitate detection, correction, and prevention of nonconformities in materials, parts, assemblies, and products (Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) for continuous improvement
  • Review inspection fixtures and gauges that are used as “Media of Inspection.”
  • Manage the Nonconforming Material system (Report Database)
  • Assist the Quality Management team in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Assurance Program
  • Assist the Quality Management team in the formulation, implementation, and maintenance of quality objectives
  • Perform statistical studies, including generating metrics reports, for the purpose of evaluating or reporting quality and reliability information; provide guidance to supervisors and managers on ways to improve based on the analyses that are performed
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of advanced quality concepts such as Continuous Quality Improvement and Statistical Process Control
  • Perform internal quality surveys and audits for assuring that the requirements of the Quality System are being attained; provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on existing gaps, and work with them to define action plans to address these issues
  • Perform Supplier Qualification audits; provide recommendations on suppliers that should be retained or not on the preferred supplier list, based on the results of the audits.
  • Provide feedback to suppliers on minor infractions and provide guidance on what is needed in order to meet required specifications
  • Prepare, revise when necessary, and distribute Quality Plans based upon product and/or customer requirements; serve as liaison for the organization to ensure any changes that are required are implemented
  • Review, recommend, and communicate the Quality Department’s comments to proposed customer specifications
  • Investigate and obtaina resolution to warranty claims and customer complaints, as assigned
  • Recommend product revisions, process changes, and testing procedures to ensure that quality standards are being attained
  • Assure that quality standards comply with division and departmental policies, national and international codes, and applicable safety requirements
  • Provide technical expertise in areas such as welding, metallurgy, nondestructive testing, and inspection methods
