About The Position

The Role: As the Quality Engineer Problem-Solver , you will be the primary plant resource for expertise and guidance on technical problem-solving activities. You will work cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing and engineering teams to find robust solutions to a variety of different plant issues related to quality, scrap and throughput to name a few. What You'll Do: Identify opportunities for formal problem-solving projects targeting significant scrap reduction, manufacturing throughput improvement and quality metric improvement. Lead formal technical problem-solving activities for the plant. Be the site contact and subject matter expert for formal problem-solving projects. Coach and support other plant employees on formal problem-solving projects and continuous improvement activities. Attend departmental quality meetings to identify potential problem-solving / continuous improvement opportunities. Facilitate meetings with plant engineering leadership to collect progress updates on plant problem-solving and continuous improvement projects. Work towards obtaining Red X Master certification Obtain OpEx Faster Master certification

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical (STEM) related field
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the year
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and off shifts, as needed by the business

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of leading technical problem-solving activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the quality field, serving in a managerial or engineering capacity
  • Six Sigma black belt certification or higher
  • Red X problem-solving certification / Shanin problem-solving certification
  • OpEx certification
