About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of the plant’s quality assurance processes, including inspection systems, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement efforts. This role helps maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure product and process conformance to internal and external standards.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab or equivalent statistical software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of measurement systems, SPC, statistics, and basic metallurgy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science strongly preferred (associate degree with experience acceptable).
  • Minimum 2 years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD, PC-DMIS, Plex, and metrology equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of process controls, inspection plans, and quality standards.
  • Lead and document the 8D process, corrective/preventive actions, and root cause investigations.
  • Review engineering prints and specifications; ensure product meets customer requirements.
  • Participate in APQP/NPI activities, including FMEAs, control plans, and PPAP submissions.
  • Monitor and improve quality metrics through data collection and statistical analysis (SPC, DOE, etc.).
  • Train personnel in quality tools and systems (e.g., root cause analysis, SPC, CMM usage).
  • Interface with customers to resolve concerns and facilitate audits and inspections.
  • Conduct internal and external audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Support supplier quality activities, including audits, development, and RMAs.
  • Assist with MRB processes and nonconforming product investigations.
  • Develop inspection methods and gaging requirements for new and existing products.
  • Contribute to Lean and 6S initiatives, process improvement, and cost reduction projects.
