About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing customer and project-specific quality activities at the site level. This role acts as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts or product lines and is responsible for executing RMAs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer ensures compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100), supports documentation and audit readiness, and collaborates cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality Technicians to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a quality or engineering support role within manufacturing.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 requirements.
  • Experience with CAPA tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and customer-facing interactions.
  • Working knowledge of basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and ERP systems; Excel proficiency is expected.
  • Ability to work with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, sometimes flexing priorities to meet the needs of the business
  • Must be able to read and write English.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CQT, or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the quality lead for assigned customer accounts or projects, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Investigate customer complaints, nonconformances, and RMAs; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) using 8D, 5-Why, and other problem-solving tools.
  • Author and maintain control plans, inspection plans, and other quality documentation to ensure proper inspection flow and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality Technicians to support launch readiness, inspection feasibility, and production quality planning.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, leading responses, and closing findings in a timely manner.
  • Manage tool calibration log.
  • Support employee training.
  • Assist in training operators or technicians on quality procedures, standards, and expectations.
  • Review and approve incoming specifications, change notices, and drawing revisions; ensure that quality documentation remains current and accurate.
  • Create and submit First Article Inspection (FAI) packages, Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), and other customer-specific deliverables.
  • Participate in the continual improvement of processes, metrics, and systems using data-driven approaches.
  • Act as a liaison for customer visits, audits, or part reviews as needed.
  • Support gage R&R studies, process capability analysis, and quality system KPIs as assigned.
