The Quality Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet or exceed customer and regulatory quality standards. This position supports the inspection, testing, and documentation processes that maintain product and process integrity throughout manufacturing. The Quality Engineer works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues, assist with root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. This individual demonstrates strong attention to detail, technical proficiency in quality tools and inspection methods, and a commitment to maintaining a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and concepts (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, 8D).
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work).
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated industries (automotive, aerospace, or medical device) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO standards and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and measurements on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document quality results, nonconformances, and corrective actions accurately and promptly.
  • Support internal and external audits through record preparation, documentation control, and audit participation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Support lean manufacturing practices such as 5S, standard work, and visual management.
  • Participate in improvement projects focused on reducing waste and improving process efficiency.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and engineers on opportunities for process or product improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new product introductions through inspection setup, documentation, and first article reviews.
  • Communicate quality findings and concerns clearly to appropriate team members.
