About The Position

You will be the Quality Engineer for the Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for embedding rigorous quality standards into the manufacturing process, developing work instructions, and ensuring that every product meets Lockheed Martin’s high‑performance expectations. As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for providing hands‑on quality engineering support to the JASSM/LRASM program, developing and maintaining inspection methods, and driving continuous improvement across the Troy facility. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or higher
  • Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance and must have at least an interim secret clearance to start
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality Engineering support in a manufacturing environment
  • Two or more years of related experience
  • One+ years of quality experience
  • Previous JASSM/LRASM experience
  • Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt or higher certification.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Quality discipline internship or DoD Industry internship
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Developing, modifying, and maintaining work instructions, evaluation, and control systems for processing materials into finished products.
  • Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; performing statistical analysis on non‑conforming parts.
  • Conducting audits, hardware quality audits (HQAs), and foreign object elimination (FOE) walk‑downs to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with Production, Program Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Investigating non‑conformance issues through root-cause analysis and driving preventive measures.
