About The Position

Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. Satisfy Somic America’s Quality goals and objectives in completion of activities or duties (reference SA Quality Manual and Quality Policy). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Assists in development and maintenance of IATF 16949 compliant quality system. Performs process, product and system audits with a focus on standards and AIAG core tools. Discusses, investigates, and resolves quality issues raised by customers. Reports development of processes for new products to customers. Reports proposals for planned changes for existing products to customers. Assists Quality Specialist in maintenance of calibration system. Assists SAI's Supplier Development Team to develop, implement, and maintain suppliers. Monitor supplier quality status. Discuss, investigate, and bring to light issues with SA's supplier base, as well as conduct supplier audits and visits throughout the year. Issues Corrective Actions & Preventative Actions with an emphasis on root cause and permanent countermeasures. Assists in resolving internal quality issues at SAI while working with production and production engineering to find best solutions. Reviews PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions from suppliers to determine if set specifications are met. Maintains and provides a safe work area and work in a safe manner. Submit suggestions for improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
