General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Engineer V to drive product quality across the entire lifecycle - from new product introduction (NPI) through sustaining production - while ensuring AS9100 compliance, robust quality systems, and continuous improvement.   • Lead quality planning and oversight for new product introduction (NPI) in the electrical and cable manufacturing area, ensuring design readiness, process capability, and compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate quality engineering projects from planning through execution, driving schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Develop and implement inspection, testing, and quality control methods to improve product performance and reduce defects.
  • Identify and implement design or manufacturing changes to enhance quality, producibility, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement projects to improve yield and reduce nonconformance.
  • Support and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Serve as a technical quality liaison across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline and eight or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or six or more years with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must be able to apply comprehensive knowledge of quality engineering principles, inspection methods, and AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Must be able to analyze complex quality issues and develop creative solutions and clearly present recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively, demonstrating strong leadership skills with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs), new product introduction (NPI), and sustaining production support.
  • Professional certifications such as ASQ CQE, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or Certified Quality Manager.
  • Experience with special processes, avionics/electronics, or complex mechanical assemblies preferred.
