What You Will Do: Pratt and Whitney Asheville is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for, but not limited to the following: In this position the candidate’s primary role will be to support the shop floor. A QE is responsible for reviewing procedures, specifications, work instructions and equipment to ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems. Responsibilities include: Work under indirect supervision and select from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks Conduct overrides Support and guide inspectors with QN processing Check, progress, and correlate accurate build and inspection records Provide logistical support to requests through the Quality Lab Review and approve work instructions Perform assignments involving planning and execution of a project of limited scope or a portion of larger, more diverse projects (with engineering guidance) relating to new equipment introductions, new product launches, or new process methodologies Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by identifying, resolving, and escalating problems, determining system improvements and implementing changes Assist engineers with data collection and analysis, design of experiments, qualification and special projects Works with engineering in root cause analysis, and definition and implementation of short- and long-term countermeasures Improve manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers Develop and deliver technical training to the inspection and operations teams Comply with and support health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures Perform Other duties as assigned Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by identifying, resolving, and escalating problems, This position is for Weekend Shift i.e. Alternate Work Week (AWW): Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30AM - 6:30 PM.
