About The Position

As a Quality Engineer, you are instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and reliability within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in quality assurance methodologies and regulatory requirements, you play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and optimization of quality assurance processes throughout the product lifecycle. Your meticulous attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proactive approach enables you to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous enhancement of quality standards. Your Key Areas of Impact Excellence in Quality Assurance and Compliance: Drawing upon your in-depth knowledge of quality management principles and industry standards, you lead efforts to establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes. This includes establishing the primary contact role for technical quality issues with the customer, preparing and distributing Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) based on specific customer requirements, and utilizing ERP systems to track down and contain non-conformance products. You ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards, safeguarding product integrity and customer satisfaction. Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving: You drive a culture of continuous improvement by conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and leading problem-solving initiatives with manufacturing teams. Through rigorous analysis of customer data, you identify areas for improvement, make recommendations for enhancement, and coordinate RCFA of customer Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs). You also assist in developing statistical process control techniques to ensure process quality and conduct training sessions to elevate the skills of technicians, fostering a culture of quality excellence across all departments. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support: As a key liaison between quality assurance and other departments, you collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. This includes working with the Quality Control Supervisor and Production Manager to develop and improve quality and process control systems, coordinating RCFA of customer RMAs with the NCR/RMA supervisor and Key Account Manager, and working closely with the Key Account Manager to address any customer quality-related issues. Your ability to establish communication processes ensures all levels of the organization are notified and informed of customer complaints and RMAs, facilitating seamless integration of quality processes throughout the organization. Product and Process Validation: You lead validation activities to ensure the reliability and performance of products and manufacturing processes. Through rigorous testing, validation protocols, and statistical analysis, you verify product conformance to specifications and mitigate risks associated with product defects or deviations. Your knowledge of measurement devices at the micron level ensures accuracy and precision in validation processes, further enhancing product quality and reliability. Professional Development and Qualification Maintenance: You maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies. This includes obtaining and maintaining certification as a Certified Quality Engineer from the American Society for Quality Control. Your commitment to continuous learning and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices ensures you remain at the forefront of quality management trends and methodologies, driving innovation and excellence in quality assurance practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering or related field, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance and quality management
  • At least five (5) years in quality engineering/manufacturing roles
  • Skills in statistical process control and root cause & corrective action
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a high-volume, tight tolerance manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency extends to various quality management methodologies and tools such as FMEA, PCP, SPC, Root Cause Failure Analysis, DMAIC, and 8D
  • High-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficient in statistical software such as Mini-Tab, JMP, and Tableau

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Six Sigma (green/black belt preferred)
  • Recent IATF experience
