The Quality Engineer is a key member of Global Quality Assurance department and is responsible for leading quality system reviews, performing audits, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and compliance for the Lacrosse products. This role will report to the Global Quality Director.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Materials preferred) or related field- or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality, working in multi-site manufacturing networks preferred.
  • Demonstrated auditing skills with the ability to assess compliance objectively and drive accountability.
  • Strong manufacturing process knowledge (injection molding, assembly, testing protocols).
  • ISO 9001 or equivalent quality system knowledge.
  • Comfort with data analysis tools; willingness to adopt business intelligence and AI-powered quality analytics platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with creative problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with quality management software (Smartsheet, Minitab, or similar).
  • Familiarity with NOCSAE, ASTM, or SEI certification processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with certified sporting goods or safety-critical products (helmets, protective equipment) is preferred.
  • Direct lacrosse experience (playing, coaching, or officiating) to bring user perspective and credibility with product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial comprehensive review of the quality system against standards.
  • Execute systematic audits of production, quality, laboratory, and compliance processes.
  • Document gaps, generate corrective action plans, and drive closure with measurable improvements.
  • Establish and track quality KPIs, use data analytics and AI-powered tools to identify trends and predict potential failures proactively.
  • Lead root cause analysis using structured methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D).
  • Collaborate with R&D, Design, and Testing teams during new lacrosse product development.
  • Audit production trials to verify mass production capability meets specifications and quality standards; proactively flag gaps.
  • Validate all certification requirements (NOCSAE, ASTM, SEI) are completed and documented before production release and during production.
  • Develop product-specific Quality Guidelines that capture lessons learned and prevent recurring issues.
  • Audit supplier quality systems to ensure compliance with Critical to Quality (CTQ) processes.
  • Collaborate with the team to strengthen incoming material inspection standards and processes.
  • Support vendor corrective actions with data-driven follow-up; communicate requirements with clarity and confidence.
  • Communicate effectively across quality, production, lab, warranty, R&D, and sourcing teams.
  • Explain and mentor team members on quality principles, processes and tools.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change processes affecting Liverpool operations.
