About The Position

The Quality Engineer supports Virginia Panel Corporation's (VPC) commitment to delivering high-performance interface and test solutions through robust quality systems, data-driven improvement, and ISO compliance. The Quality Engineer collaborates cross-functionally to enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and overall operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement roles.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality auditing practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electronics, precision manufacturing, or test interface systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality policies, goals, and inspection plans consistent with ISO 9001 and company objectives.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with all Quality and ISO requirements across departments.
  • Participate in establishing quality schedules, audits, and testing standards to uphold product integrity and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality concerns, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify that operators adhere to established procedures and maintain proper documentation.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to verify product performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to prioritize and execute process improvement initiatives that enhance quality and profitability.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on compliance with governmental and industry regulations (e.g., DFARS, RoHS).
  • Support process validation and change management activities for new and existing products.
  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Promote Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, and throughput improvement to enhance efficiency and delivery performance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and optimization of VPC's Quality Management System (QMS).
