About The Position

The Quality Engineer position at a contract manufacturer of sheet metal products involves ensuring product quality through various inspections and compliance checks. Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience/education combination
• Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing quality experience
• Strong understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail
• Willingness to work overtime as necessary
• Good understanding of ISO 9001

Responsibilities

• Assists with first article inspections and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) of sheet-metal parts and assemblies
• Interprets engineering drawings and prints with multiple views to verify part compliance
• Performs receiving inspections of raw materials
• Verifies in-process audits are being performed and documented
• Assists with measurement device calibration program
• Assists with developing and implementing corrective actions including root cause analysis for internal and external failure modes
• Assists with the internal quality system audit programs
