About The Position

Peterson Power Systems has a need for a Quality Engineer who is based in the state of Wisconsin. The Quality Engineer supports quality management at various supplier facilities and job sites, ensuring Peterson Power’s quality program is maintained and continuously improved upon. This position is specifically dedicated to large complex and longer-duration projects with a high degree of 'design/build' engineering and on-site customer interaction, with customers that are typically Global accounts or large engineering & construction firms working for municipalities. This role works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Technicians, customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure that Peterson Power’s product quality meets or exceeds our customers’ needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business or other closely related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in quality management in the construction industry.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality-related certification(s) preferred, such as Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Engineer, and/or Six Sigma Green/Yellow/Black Belt.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and communicate quality documents to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Aid in establishing and implementing quality best practices for all stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure equipment quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with clients and Caterpillar in assessing supplier quality.
  • Assist Sales and Operations teams in quality processes and activities.
  • Work with Project Managers to aid in start-up and commissioning document completion.
  • Oversee project issue logs, inspections, quality records, and final reports.
  • Perform shop tests, site tests, and quality inspections on equipment.
  • Provide technical support related to quality and/or commissioning to suppliers, vendors, customers, and sales team as needed.
  • Respond to customers’ quality needs with the direction of the Quality Manager.
  • Utilize multiple software platforms in daily activities such as CxAlloy and SharePoint.
  • Execute supplier quality assessments / audits as necessary.
  • Perform End-Of-Line inspections on customer equipment.
  • Provide quality reports to Quality Manager.
  • Perform quality management system audits at suppliers on behalf of customers.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to customer job sites, vendor and supplier sites, and to meet with members of the Peterson Power team.
