About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Quality Engineer (Tooling) to join their team in San Antonio, TX. Quality Engineers (QE) work to develop, maintain and assess the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the production processes and design. QEs are responsible for verifying our value stream is capable of meeting the engineering requirements. We are looking to bring in team members who are excited about the integration of engineering design and the production system. Position Responsibilities: Provides oversight of supplier possessed assembly tooling (e.g. MOI (Media of Inspection), Master gauge tooling) and tooling processes Work closely with other engineering functions and manufacturing to ensure compliance to our regulators and contractual requirements, while continually improving our products and processes Problem-solving leadership through analyzing defect data, performing analysis to support production changes, identifying and implementing improvements to quality and production processes and product designs, and leading cross-functional teams on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and defect reduction efforts Conduct audits to ensure that tooling process is compliant Data analysis skills, problem solving and engineering data are essential skills for a successful quality engineer.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in Quality Assurance
  • Experience with RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
  • Experience with auditing

Nice To Haves

  • Training and/or experience in using Lean Manufacturing Principles (e.g. APQP, 6 sigma)
  • Familiarity with C-17 platform
  • Air force platform experience
  • Experience with assembly tooling
  • Familiarity with tooling risk assessment
  • Understanding of Source tooling
  • AS9100 familiarity

Responsibilities
