About The Position

We're seeking a Quality Control Intern who will be responsible for performing incoming inspections of raw materials and components using checklists. They will conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing, including visual, dimensional, and labeling checks. The intern will work alongside other Quality Control Techs to help improve the data collection process. The Quality Control Intern will also analyze sealant samples from the field and review with Chem Lab, R&D, and provide observations to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position is based at our Manufacturing and Warehouse Facility in Burlington, New Jersey. The Quality Control Intern must be able to work at least 20 hours a week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing, automotive, electronics, or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with data, identify problems, and propose ideas.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or basic knowledge in manufacturing processes, lean principles, or operations preferred.
  • Basic understanding of safety or manufacturing standards (OSHA, UL, etc.) is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing quality issues and support improvement efforts with the Quality Assurance Team.
  • The QC Intern will be responsible for performing incoming inspections of raw materials and components and documents the findings
  • Observe and document current quality processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • The intern will perform basic functional tests according to work instructions and assist with material or performance testing
  • Evaluate and test incoming materials, including products, components, raw materials, and documentation, to ensure they meet established specifications.
  • Identify and manage materials that do not conform to quality standards, ensuring proper handling and resolution.
  • Review and process all customer returns and Return Material Authorizations (RMA), determining suitable actions for each case.
  • Maintain thorough records of inspection and testing activities, as well as decisions regarding material disposition, as required.

  • Evaluate customer returns, including sealant products, and collaborate with the Chemistry Laboratory and R&D to verify and validate the return samples.
  • May occasionally visit other company locations or suppliers with the supervision of full time QA engineer / QC Tech.
