About The Position

This position is a paid internship for the Summer of 2026. The internship will be based in the Zeeland MI facility. The Quality Intern will work closely with the Quality team and will participate in a cross-function team comprised of Quality, Operations, Manufacturing and Product Engineering to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction are achieved with a focus on systems and standards improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering or related field
  • Incoming Junior or Senior preferred with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills and project management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Ability to accurately read prints, specifications, procedures, FMEAs, and control plans.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quality management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review key product and process documentation ensuring customer requirements have been accurately transferred down through operator instructions.
  • Assist with dimensional and visual inspection of incoming products (i.e., use of inspection tools and measurement equipment).
  • Manage process improvement and projects related to product quality improvement.
  • Conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Work with operations to drive towards the divisional scrap goal.
  • Perform Statistical and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Project-based improvement activities
  • Participate in other quality activities as assigned.
