About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and execute quality processes for the design, test , and manufacture of various spaceflight systems . You will be responsible to drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at all levels. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable, as you will work on a variety of applications and sys tems . We are looking for an individual that can implement innovative quality initiatives as part of the design element for Blue Origin hardware. Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Quality experience in production environment.
  • Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes such as Machining, Welding, NDT and measurement sciences.
  • Knowledge of Nonconforming and MRB process.
  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102
  • Knowledge of SPC principles.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge in Causal Analysis tools, including cause & effect diagrams, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5-why, fault tree analysis, etc.
  • Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
  • QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
  • Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
  • Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs
  • Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing team
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.
