THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a full-time Quality Engineer III who will report to the Director of Quality. The successful individual in this role will serve as a high-level quality engineering professional, driving strategic quality initiatives across product development, production, and supplier networks. This role serves as a subject matter expert in quality systems, audits, and compliance, with accountability for calibration oversight, ESD program management, and supplier quality performance. The Quality Engineer III provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and partners with leadership to embed quality into all phases of the product lifecycle. This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in quality engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Proven leadership in calibration program management, ESD compliance, and internal audit execution.
  • Experience with supplier quality, SCAR management, and supplier audits.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience in advanced statistical analysis and risk management tools.
  • Expert-level knowledge of quality system documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Highly effective communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with executives, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics.
  • Customer-facing experience in audit or quality review settings.
  • IPC Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex root cause investigations, CAPA activities, and systemic corrective action implementation across departments and suppliers.
  • Own the calibration and test equipment program, ensuring compliance with ISO/AS9100 requirements and driving efficiency in equipment utilization.
  • Serve as site ESD Control Program Authority, maintaining standards, conducting training, and leading compliance audits.
  • Plan, conduct, and lead internal audits, ensuring readiness for external ISO 9001/AS9100 and customer audits.
  • Collaborate with engineering to establish reliability requirements, qualification plans, and accelerated life testing strategies.
  • Drive supplier quality management including supplier audits, SCAR issuance and closure, and supplier performance scorecards.
  • Author, review, and maintain quality management system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality plans.
  • Develop and report quality metrics for leadership, identifying key risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach Quality Engineers I & II and inspection staff, providing technical guidance and fostering career development.
  • Represent the Quality organization in customer meetings, audits, and technical discussions as a subject matter expert.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA.
  • As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
