Quality Engineer II Position Summary The Quality Engineer II will perform various Quality Engineering functions and support Quality Assurance duties including , supplier quality requirement flow downs, support the overall quality management system, monitoring quality KPI's, quality data analysis, reporting , quality performance, determining opportunities to improve process and product quality, scoping, planning and taking action to Problem Solve or lead Continuous Improvement projects. Roles & Responsibilities CUSTOMER Respond and do RCCA (as applicable) customer complaints and product returns. Support customer on site audits and evaluations. Interpret customer contract & PO's, specifications, drawing notes and requirements. Obtain access to customers portals. QUALITY ENGINEERING TASKS Create, revise and implement technical QE tasks; MRRs, CARs, MRB dispositions, QC Items, Purges, VIRs (+ RFI, RFV and QN), QC Approvals, SDMRs, VFP,WO, Drawing and DCN revision. Obtain Quality Assurance Engineer Qualification Collaborate in the design, implementation and utilization of formal Quality tools; process mapping, FMEA's, control plans, process controls. Define supplier quality requirements, assure alignment to customer and Sargent's requirements. Lead and Assist with Gage R&R (gage repeatability and reproducibility) studies, defining inspection methods and equipment. Data entry into CSI system as necessary, as it relates to MRR's Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) planning and reviews. Participate in the TIER II daily meeting reporting on COPQ, MRRs (effectiveness) and RMAs status. QUALITY SYSTEM Support the QMS to Create, Revise and Update procedures, work instructions and forms. Respond to Customer questionnaires, surveys and be POC for visits. Participate in the QMS Internal Audit program. CONTINUOUS IMPROVENMENT AND PROBLEM SOLVING Lead Problem Solving and Collaborate on quality improvement projects. Lead and Assist with data analysis to identify Trends and Opportunities for COPQ reduction and MRRs effectiveness and efficiency. Lead and/or Collaborate in root cause analysis, planning and implementation corrective and preventive actions.

  • Associate Degree or four years quality assurance experience
  • Familiar with quality tool usage including root cause analysis, measurement system analysis, process reviews, pareto analysis and failure mode effects analysis and basic process controls design and implementation.
  • Proven knowledge of Quality Management System standards
  • Ability to read and understand drawings including GD&T and other requirements
  • Internal Auditor experience to AS9100 Quality System
  • Exposure Ability to track and do analysis of quality metrics, statistical control analysis and critical thinking methodologies
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively, to identify and develop quality solutions, and use appropriate judgment and decision-making skills necessary to achieve desired goals
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to a strict production schedule and handle conflicting priorities
  • Proficient with applicable computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Technical writing experience
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Bachelors of Science Degree
  • ASQ -CQE or CQA
  • Experience with DFARS (Defense Acquisition Regulations System)
  • AS9100 Auditor Certification
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Material Review Board experience
  • Defense Contract Management Agency and Federal Aviation Administration experience
  • Previous experience with Lean/ 6Sigma, such as Yellow Belt or above
  • Previous experience as a customer delegated inspector
