About The Position

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Quality Engineer II to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance efforts, designing and implementing test strategies, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our software products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and contribute to the delivery of exceptional software solutions. You will join a team of experience Quality Engineers responsible for bug free software delivery by performing Smoke testing, Functional testing, Regression testing. You should be able to test manually as well as be proficient in Automation testing. You should have exposure to different QA testing tools for managing and executing test cases, tracking bugs and reporting status. You should have proven experience of leading and mentoring a team of 5 or more Quality Engineers. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on designing and implementing test strategies, leading testing efforts, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or similar/related Engineering/Science based disciplines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution collaboratively.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Proven experience preparing, presenting, and maintaining required SDLC documentation and artifacts.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of quality assurance engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic test plans and test strategies to ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with business goals.
  • Strong Automation skills – You should be proficient in developing Automated tests using Open-Source tools like Selenium, Appium etc. and you should be able to code in languages such as Java, C#, Python etc.
  • Problem-solving - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to systematically analyze complex software systems, ask right questions and identify root causes of issues.
  • Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Documentation - Proficient in creating clear and concise documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports, to ensure comprehensive test coverage and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Collaboration - Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to achieve common goals.
  • Continuous Improvement - Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software quality assurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: XML, JavaScript, .NET framework, T-SQL, JQuery, JSON.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and familiarity with performance testing methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ADO and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • QA testing related certifications (or willingness to obtain) such as ISTQB Advanced Level, Certified Test Engineer (CSTE) Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST).

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • Ensure version controlling of QA Automation code and implementation of best practices with code quality.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and smoke testing using Manual as well as automation testing techniques.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product managers, software developers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, identify acceptance criteria, and prioritize testing efforts.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues using bug tracking systems, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication of findings.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning meetings to provide input on quality-related matters and ensure alignment with quality standards.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Participate in different Agile ceremonies like Daily sync up, Story refinement, Sprint review, retrospective etc.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software quality assurance.
