About The Position

Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Quality Engineer! We’re seeking a driven professional to support our Machining and Integrated Assembly divisions, ensuring the highest standards are upheld throughout the sourcing and production of advanced hardware. The ideal candidate is passionate about Quality Improvement and skilled in driving effective Corrective Actions. This role offers meaningful leadership opportunities within a rapidly growing, dynamic organization. Please note: This is a fully onsite role (not remote/not hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science required with an emphasis in Engineering from an accredited four-year institution is required.
  • 3 or more years of relevant Manufacturing experience in the Aerospace and/or Semiconductor industry highly preferred
  • Experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products
  • Self-Starter with strong self-motivation; flexible, organized, and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Reliable, dependable, and honest, demonstrating exceptional integrity
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, customer-focused mindset
  • Maintains a professional and respectful demeanor in all situations; thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and is eager to support others as needs evolve
  • Applicant must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to employment.
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret customer drawings that include GD&T and multi-level Bills of Materials
  • Perform advanced manual inspections with gauging tools and perform visual product Inspections
  • Solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
  • Create/refine Manufacturing Work Instructions and Quality Inspection plans
  • Submit Customer First Article, Final inspection reports, and Engineering change requests
  • Record and Trend Quality performance data
  • Create/refine Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) disposition activities
  • Lead/Facilitate internal Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Lead Customer escapes containments and Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing advanced problem solving
  • Provide training to employees on Quality related topics
  • Interface with Customer Quality and Engineering Reps
  • Manage Customers supplier scorecard reviews and improvement activities
  • Conduct Source Inspections and also schedule contracted Source inspections where necessary
  • Audit internal and supplier processes
  • Own, direct and establish metrics for Supplier Quality Management
  • Makes the final decision on acceptability of product
  • Other duties as assigned
