About The Position

As Quality Engineer I, you will be responsible for ensuring that products and services meet established quality standards. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes, conducting inspections and tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with various teams to resolve quality issues. The Quality Engineer also plays a key role in continuous improvement efforts by proactively identifying areas for enhancement and recommending process adjustments. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years’ experience in lieu of degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality
  • Knowledge of statistical software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Office products.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management

Nice To Haves

  • C.Q.E. and/or Quality Assurance training with certificate underway or completed a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production floor processes for conformance to KPI’s and customer requirements which include fit, form, function, reliability and appearance criteria
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to establish quality standards
  • Investigate and resolve internal and customer-reported issues, including field returns.
  • Work with relevant teams to develop and implement corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans to address identified issues and prevent recurrence
  • Update and enhance inspection checklists, procedures, and quality processes.
  • Proactively identify potential risks, failures, and deviations before they occur
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
  • Provide training and support to quality assurance/control team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes
  • Participate in First Article Inspections (FAI), ISO certification processes, customer audits, and surveillance activities.
