About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products meet the quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, focusing on developing and implementing quality control systems, identifying and resolving issues and improving processes. The role involves monitoring the entire production process, performing regular tests to identify potential problems, inspecting materials and systems for defects, and investigating root causes of technical issues. The Quality Engineer will prepare reports, review work instructions for compliance, set and track quality assurance goals, and work with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, the position may require coordination with external Quality Assurance Auditors and supervising hourly quality personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 7+ years' experience in quality, quality control or manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another related field preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Professional persona with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, and written work instructions

Responsibilities

  • Monitor entire production process and perform regular tests to identify potential problems and issues in early stages
  • Inspect materials and systems to find defects and enhance durability
  • Investigate and identify root causes of technical issues and perform problem-solving activities (8D, fishbone diagram, Pareto charts, 5-why, etc.) to correct or recommend fixes
  • Prepare reports and/or documentation of malfunctions and corrective actions
  • Review work instructions and quality documentation for compliance to drawings and customer requirements
  • Set and track quality assurance goals
  • Work with internal teams to improve the quality of product for enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with external Quality Assurance Auditors and technicians to ensure compliance
  • Read, write and interpret work instructions to ensure accuracy of work performed
  • Perform off-line tasks including quality checks, down-time reporting and housekeeping duties
  • Interpret specifications and customer requirements
  • Supervise hourly quality personnel as needed
