GHSP is currently hiring a Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Hart.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in quality curriculum or Industrial technology.
  • 3+ years in Quality in the automotive, electronics, or aerospace manufacturing industries.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering general or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads Chang - Leads or supports Operation's continuous improvement activities autonomously.
  • Leads improvement projects to reduce scrap and ppm, or improve yields using quality tools such as Red X, Six Sigma, DOE, capability studies, etc.
  • Works the with Warranty team, Product Engineering, and manufacturing to analyze warranty returns and assist in the implementation of product and process design improvements resulting from that analysis.
  • Supports Operations - Responds to quality problem calls on the shop floor.
  • Facilitates problem solving activities using documented processes.
  • With Team Leaders, regularly reports on problem solving and corrective action activities.
  • Participates in process change request process and, with customers' input, determines appropriate customer deliverables required for changes.
  • Manages and updates production control plans with team input and reviews process flows and PFMEAs.
  • Periodically reviews production control plans to determine opportunities to eliminate waste.
  • Manages activities related to gauge improvements or changes after product is in production.
  • Supports and participates in plant continuous improvement activities such as value stream mapping or other kaizen events.
  • Voice of the Customer - Interprets and internally communicates customer expectations related to product quality and quality systems.
  • Acts as the primary quality contact for customers after product launch.
  • Responds to customer complaints with containment activities and periodic updates of corrective action activities.
  • Periodically monitors customer sites and shares customer communications internally.
  • Oversees and supports customer audits and self-assessments, including the tracking and implementation of required countermeasures.
  • Quality Engineer II - Applies practical Quality Engineering knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
  • Works independently with general supervision.
  • Problems faced can be difficult and complex, but primarily handled autonomously.
  • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
