About The Position
The Quality Engineer for Mining Drills at Komatsu will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our drilling equipment. This position requires a proactive approach to quality control, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective quality control processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will uphold Komatsu's commitment to delivering superior products to our customers by establishing and maintaining quality control systems that conform to Komatsu (KLTD) standards. In this role, the engineer will leverage the Advance Quality Planning Process (PFMEA & Control Plan) to provide feedback from other projects, developing countermeasures for current projects and sharing best practices within the New Product Introduction (NPI) group. The Quality Engineer will also promote and coordinate a smooth transition to Plant Quality from the Launch stage to Start of Production (SOP), collaborating with teams to establish a robust quality plan for ongoing process control. The responsibilities include ensuring timely root cause and corrective action investigations for all non-conformance issues, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to meet product specifications, and conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with internal, ISO element, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will develop and maintain documentation related to quality processes and procedures, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for quality-related matters, gather and analyze product data to lead improvement initiatives, recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions, and develop inspection procedures and sampling plans for new production. The role also involves promoting a continuous improvement environment by providing leadership and direction for facility teams.
