The Quality Co-op plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products: Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in mechanical engineering.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school education and actively pursuing a minimum of BS degree in Engineering.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Use and be capable of using measuring tools (optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, scales, ect.); interpret visual aids and must be able to perform simple shop math
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL©
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards and able to gain an understanding of Quality System.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Employment at Bettcher Industries is contingent upon the successfully completing both a pre-employment background check and a drug screening.
  • All candidates hired must be able to provide proper documentation of their eligibility to work in the US (I-9 form).

Responsibilities

  • Root cause Analysis implementation of corrective action process related concerns
  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, ect.
  • Interface with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
  • Support Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with relevant requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct audits including closing out audit findings reports ad determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Create and Maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, ect.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing functions.
  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Preparation of QA reports.
