About The Position

We are looking for a Quality Engineer/Auditor to join our Quality Team. The successful candidate will conduct both internal and external audits, initiate and monitor corrective actions until they are resolved, and prepare reports on audit findings. This position will be responsible for managing AS9100 processes, Nadcap processes, and procedures across all departments. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate and schedule audits for internal systems and track the completion of corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or other technical field of study; or, in lieu of a degree, equivalent experience with strong emphasis in Manufacturing Quality Control and Audits.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a lead auditor role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the standards, implementation, and certification process of Quality Management Systems, customer specific Quality System certification programs, Corrective Action, Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans, Process Analysis, Cost of Quality, and associated statistical tools used to analyze problems.
  • Experience using Epicor or other ERP systems - Project, Visio a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to explain a range of complex technical information to a diverse audience as well as drive teams to task completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Lead Auditor training preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma and Ishakawa Diagram experience with a basic understanding of 6S, Value Stream Mapping, etc., desired.

Responsibilities

  • Job will involve maintaining conformance to Customer, AS9100, Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) requirements in machining, painting, processing, metal forming, assembly, and knowledge of heat treating.
  • Schedule and Conduct internal audits.
  • Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate and support onsite audits conducted by external providers.
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Report audit findings to senior management.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to audit team members.
  • Lead meetings for audit finding status actions.
  • Review and approve audit finding actions.
  • Lead to answer external provider audit findings.
  • Applies a strong knowledge of quality systems to improving the systems and products.
  • Maintains annual goals and meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements, in addition to meeting requirements for AS9100/ISO9001.
  • Maintain and distribute required Quality Metrics.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
