About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join the Quality team in Berkeley, MO. This position is seeking Quality Engineers who are passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers support existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system. This position will support the F-18 aircraft production line, performing trend analysis, leading and participating in problem-solving and investigations, as well as performing root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
  • More than 1 year of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
