About The Position

The Quality Engineer 2 will work with a cross functional team, with a focus on quality assurance and quality control to develop processes and procedures for continuous improvement based on quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. Responsible for conformity of quality compliance for Cirrus products to assure conformance. Implements process & quality improvements to the manufacturing process by planning and prioritization of tasks and checking to assure quality compliance.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a STEM discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years Quality System Experience or Engineering experience OR 1 years with a Graduate degree OR equivalent eductation and experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of various problem-solving and quality engineering methodologies such as process mapping, Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis, statistical techniques such as Analysis of Variance, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility, and Process Capability Studies
  • Use the principle statistics, calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced topics in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting work
  • Skilled knowledge in Database Software; Design software, Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Experience capability in coordinating between diverse group of individuals including engineering, supply chain, purchasing, operators/technicians, and management.
  • Expert in communicate problem statements, root cause analysis and corrective action solutions to stakeholders.
  • Expert in engineering drawings and basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Expert knowledge of inspections equipment such as height gauges, CMMs, portable CMMS, laser trackers, etc

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies and programs that improve product quality and reliability
  • Assists in the development and implementation of supplier management programs
  • Develops measurement methods and documents inspection plans to evaluate whether associated tooling and work processes achieve engineering design intent
  • Develops and defines company and quality objectives and goals for supplier quality requirements
  • Partners with senior QEs in the evaluation of suppliers for ability to meet product quality management system requirements through product and system audits
  • Documents standard operating procedures for relevant quality management system functions
  • Acts as a project team lead on new product development projects and programs
  • Subject matter expert in Quality System Management
  • Skilled in Failure Models and Effects Analysis (FMEA) as applied to quality inspection
