Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing electrical testing (troubleshooting, circuits, testing electronics, product testing, system diagnosis).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.
  • Experience with low voltage assemblies from premium customers for data centers.
  • Experience with customer functional test scripts.
  • Experience with primary and secondary injection tests.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and circuit design.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of communication devices of low voltage assemblies like Gateways, Power meters, HMI, automatic relays.
  • Strong computer skills and network setup, IP, subnet mask and gateway setup to perform communications and setup of electrical devices connected to a network.
  • Strong communication troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of all assembled Low voltage Assemblies
  • Experience in applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of basic electricity, current flow and component functionality.
  • Candidate must be able to travel outside of the continental United States including, but not limited to, the Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience in a Quality or Electrical Tester position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Low Voltage Assemblies.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and electrically test low voltage products produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements. Confirm proper function per test scripts, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specifications, safety, and quality requirements. Document inspections on the applicable checklist.
  • Perform final and in-process inspections across multiple product lines as appropriate to ensure Quality products to customers.
  • Program controllers and conduct thorough electrical testing of low voltage assembly products.
  • Perform inspections and audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Follow applicable test procedures and component literature, including the Universal Voltage Cart.
  • Use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing. Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly. Verify torqued connections using a torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures.
  • Verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product. Ensure all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used/discarded. (Process and update paperwork accurately - POM, test reports, etc.)
  • Thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate design errors to appropriate front-end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework.
