Are you living your life's work? The Diagnostic Imaging Quality Educational Coordinator works directly with the Diagnostic Imaging Quality Patient Safety Regulatory Manager. Collaborates on the processes related to TJC requirements, modality certifications and licensure. Responsible for the internal clinical auditing functions assuring that services are provided within the guidelines of state and federal regulations, and accrediting bodies. Coordinates the development of orientation and staff education programs for all levels of staff and management. Coordinates, evaluates, and monitors the implementation of all quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory processes and procedures throughout Diagnostic Imaging. Serves as an active collaborator, bridging inpatient and ambulatory services to build commitment for the delivery of high, quality patient care. Supports ongoing active rounding audit practices, as well as serving as a liaison to the front line staff to identify opportunities for quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Registration Certification in a Diagnostic Imaging discipline.
  • Associates degree in Allied health or a related degree; or three 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Five 5 years of clinical experience in a Diagnostic Imaging discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer skills: Intermediate Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
  • Experience in facilitation of teams to drive quality and process improvement within a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Allied health or a related degree.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, evaluates, and monitors the implementation of the department's continuous Performance Improvement Plan utilizing accepted Performance Improvement principles, tools and measurement techniques.
  • Participates in the monitoring and reporting of the overall Diagnostic Imaging department goals.
  • Prepares and or coordinates statistical reports utilizing available software applications based on the results of regulatory audits tracers and patient customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Demonstrates ability to assist others to achieve measurable performance improvements and goal achievement.
  • Coordinates and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans for deficiencies identified through audit tracer review, medical record audit, patient customer satisfaction surveys, and accrediting body and or state surveys.
  • Utilizes the necessary resources to obtain valid, reliable data for Quality, Regulatory, Patient Safety, and Hospital Department policies.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of standardized policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of current regulations and quality standards for all state, federal and TJC patient safety and quality requirements both in the acute care and ambulatory settings.
  • Facilitates the competency development process, collaborating with the modality supervisors on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide department specific validator training and serves as competency validator.
  • Solicits feedback from participants regarding effectiveness of learning experiences and behavioral outcomes after the learning experience.
  • Performs frequent environmental scan of assigned units work areas and recommends educational programming opportunities new classes, content, experiences, etc. to meet the needs of employees.
  • Collaborates with supervisors to determine educational needs competencies related to department specific process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Diagnostic Imaging department leadership on clinical ladder portfolio assistance, and individual coaching.
  • Participates in activities related to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements of a procedural surgical environment.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and develops orientation, education, and competencies related to safety, quality, and regulatory needs.
  • Serves as a participating member on department and hospital Quality, Patient Safety, and Regulatory committees.
  • Teaches classes as needed, utilizing the principles of adult education; arranging format to maximize learning.
  • Serves as a participating member on hospital competency committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.
