About The Position

The Quality Data Analyst-Abstractor at Samaritan Health Services performs high-level analyses in support of institution-wide clinical quality improvement activities. This role involves facilitating the development and maintenance of data collection, leveraging existing data to identify gaps in care, and recommending areas of focus for quality improvement activities. The analyst accurately collects and records specific data elements from patient medical records based on established criteria and guidelines, performs data abstraction of clinical findings from medical records, and enters data into clinical data systems. The position is part of the Quality Outcomes and Reporting team, which provides analysis of quality data, handles quality reporting, and oversees CMS quality incentive programs for the system. The team prepares standard and ad hoc reports, supports regulatory reporting, interprets data, and presents key trends and important findings to enable site and department leadership to turn them into actionable insights and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Two (2) years related experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Experience with Midas quality reporting system required.
  • Experience and/or training in word processing, database management, and Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Experience with statistics and in project management/coordination preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Sepsis Bundle (SEP 1) Metric.
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Strong experience presenting to all levels of leadership, including executive leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
