About The Position

The Quality Data Abstractor for Stroke at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is responsible for collecting, storing, and entering data regarding specialized patient populations for various disease-specific specialty databases, registries, and research projects. This remote position ideally requires the incumbent to work 4-10 hours per week, with flexibility for evening, weekend, or weekday schedules. The role involves collaboration with physicians, surgeons, clinical specialty program coordinators, and quality coordinators to ensure accurate data management and compliance with professional standards.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in data coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Completes the process for timely submission of data to various disease-specific specialty databases and registries.
  • Coordinates training sessions for individuals with access to databases to ensure accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Performs inter-rater reliability and other data quality measures to meet database and internal data quality standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities by identifying data sources for studies and performing database queries.
  • Collaborates with Information Services for the implementation and maintenance of information systems.
  • Prepares and presents site data to Administration and clinical specialty teams.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Quality Management Team.
  • Performs data collection relating to clinical specialty patients using appropriate forms and software.
  • Maintains accurate database records of clinical specialty patients.
  • Supports research with data collection and other activities as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with surgeons, physicians, and team members.
